As part of our activities to mark international DLD Day this year, we organised a charity walk through the City of London, with a Quizzy twist.
At the start each group was given a set of maps, a list of directions and questions and were challenged to try to answer as many as possible along the way.
It was bright but chilly as the 20 walkers gathered outside Farringdon station, but they were soon off in groups with their directions, questions and maps, with 8km to walk and many questions to answer!
In Postman’s Park the walkers were met by the 2 Mark’s and given 2 tasks to complete for extra points, with all teams doing very well.
All walkers made it safely to the finish back at Farringdon station and then gathered in the handy pub over the road where the answers were checked, photos of ‘blue plaques’ for extra points scrutinised and points allocated. All walkers received a certificate and a small gift, with the winners receiving free tickets for the Afasic Christmas concert.
We are very grateful to all the walkers who took part and have raised £460 of much needed funds towards our work from the event. Well done to Mary and Susan who raised £206 between them.
If you like the sound of the ‘Quizzy City walk’ then why not give it a try in your own time!? We have the route, directions, maps and questions so if you would like to do the walk in your own time then we can provide all of this to you.
