What a lovely day it turned out to be 28 amazing walkers set off from Gabriel’s Wharf to take on the 8.5 Km walk on a Sunday. It was surprising how busy it was, we even had walkers from Southampton attending. In most part it was flat but there were a lot of steps up and down the bridges, some of the less able walkers noted! We all wore our bright yellow Afasic T-shirts with the Berenberg kids logo emblazoned on the front, Berenberg Kids very kindly supported the event.

We crossed over 6 bridges and had some amazing views of famous buildings the walkers were asked to fill in some answers along the route and we hope they all enjoyed that, especially the youngsters who were all smiling a lot especially at the end!!

The walk took about three hours and a bit but it did include a stop for some refreshing fluids! Our mascot Ted also did the walk he was looked after by the amazing Amelia who has DLD and is a Young Ambassador for Afasic. she took loads of pictures with Ted and you can see them on her social media channel you can see them by following Amelia.

4 Afasic staff who also did the walk said it was an amazing day and wanted to thank all the walkers who took part. Some amazing fundraising was done and we raised over £1500 with one young person who also has DLD raising £800 this was an amazing effort thank you.
