In 2011 , Maggie and Marysia, long-term supporters of AFASIC, completed parts of the AFASIC Coastline Challenge: Maggie (with her research group), the Yorkshire coast, while Marysia,  (with 2 other speech and language therapists, Gemma and  Gill and 2 big poodles)  tackled the John Muir Way in Scotland.

Fourteen years on and to mark a big birthday in July, Maggie completed the 70 mile Northumberland Coastal Path.

The sun shone , hats blew away,  cows  gave chase and occasionally the paths were elusive but her  enthusiasm  for  walking with purpose in astonishing scenery rarely faltered . Maggie was joined by Marysia for the final stretch ending with an ice cream and a cold sea plunge at Cresswell .

They strongly recommend this walk which crosses some of the most beautiful countryside and beaches in Britain, not to mention the superb food enjoyed on the way.
A bonus was Maggie raised almost £4K for AFASIC which will fund about 30 days for the helpline or for about 13 children to attend a week-long primary to secondary transition course   There is still time to add to her sponsorship fund at https://fundraising.afasic.org.uk/fundraising/walking-for-afasic
