A very special music night for Afasic

On Sunday 16th March we held a special music evening at Pizza Express Live in Dean Street to raise much needed funds towards our work.

We are extremely grateful to the very talented Elaine Delmar for agreeing to do this for us, and to rope in some friends to join her as well! It was a wonderful evening and in total we have raised just over £3,000 from the event.

Our sincere thanks go to Elaine, who was wonderful as always, her special guests Peter Fisher on violin and Alex Garnett on saxophone, they were both amazing! Also thanks to Elaines band – Bobby Worth on drums, Simon Thorpe on double bass, and John Pearce on piano.

We would also like to thank John Billett at JBGB Events for all his help in promoting the event and kindly donating some raffle prizes.

About 70 people attended and had a great evening, and we are very grateful to all of them for supporting the event and being very generous with the raffle. There was a lot of interest in a very large box of chocolates that had been donated and the winner of that prize was very happy indeed! The staff at Pizza Express looked after everyone very well and helped to make it a special night.

Overall it was a great night, enjoyed by all, and very successful in raising funds towards the work of Afasic.
